In the frame of EEA Scholarship Programme five researchers of Geographical Institute RCAES Hungarian Academy of Sciences visited the office of GRID Arendal.

GRID Arendal, established in 1989 to support environmentally sustainable development, works in close collaboration with - among others - the UNEP. Beside research activity, the organization uses various communication channels to disseminate environmental knowledge and raise awareness.

Zsombor Nemerkényi, Renáta Szabó and Gáspár Mezei, cartographers, members of the Working Group on Cartography and Geoinformatics, participated in small group and personal consultations in the topics of atlas cartography, seafloor cartography and drone mapping.

Ágnes Erőss (Research Group on Ethnic-, Political Geography and Migration) and Balázs Szabó (Urbanisation and Settlement Environment Research Group) participated in consultations focusing on visualising methods of complex social phenomena and mapping techniques of temporally changing social processes.

The professional visit was financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 Grants Scholarship Programme (HU08) Professional visits HU 08-0109-M1-2016 project.
