The items collected cover all branches of geography along with related sciences. It is attempted to acquire all items published in Hungary, while the acquisition of foreign and related sciences material depends on the needs for actual research projects.

Some of the stock (dictionaries, handbooks, cyclopaedias, atlases, current volumes of journals) is on open shelves, while most of the holdings are kept in storerooms. Books can be demanded on the basis of shelf mark found in the catalogues. For journals it suffices to mention the name.
